World Down Syndrome Day takes place on 21 March every year. This date (3.21) represents the 3 copies of chromosome 21, which is unique to people with Down syndrome.
The goals of World Down Syndrome Day are to promote awareness and understanding, seek international support, and to achieve dignity, equal rights and a better life for people with Down syndrome everywhere.
Activities and events held on World Down Syndrome Day can have a tremendous impact, showcasing the abilities, talents and accomplishments of people with Down syndrome.
As you probably already know, a major goal of the Red River Valley Down Syndrome Society (RRVDSS) is awareness of individuals with disabilities, such as Down syndrome.
RRVDSS will be celebrating World Down Syndrome Day on 3.21. This day will be a day for our families and members to honor and celebrate those with Down syndrome.
T-Shirts are available for those that would like to purchse one. For a donation of $15 ($1 more for xl sizes), each participant will receive a World Down Syndrome Day t-shirt.
All procedes from t-shirt sales, as well as any other donations received will go towards programs that RRVDSS implements in our local area.
Payments and orders must be submitted to RRVDSS by March 16th, to ensure you get a T-Shirt. Arrangements to pick up your shirts can be made by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling (903) 783-1922
